Across the UK community centres and children’s centres have closed as a result of government cuts. I am proud that in Newton and Hoole, we have held the line – supporting community groups, finding funding for community facilities and even helping get some new ones started – like Crossroads Community Hub. Across Chester, we have kept our leisure centre, day centres and children’s centres open. We continue to fund places like Storyhouse, all because we know that these places are important to local residents.
