Environmental improvement through our local food system
We will continue our journey as an accredited Sustainable Food Place by working towards achieving the Silver Award.
We will work with landowners, famers, workers and communities, to support transition to net zero and seek greater food security through low carbon and regenerative farming techniques which restore soil health.
We will work together with the community and voluntary sector on their plans to unite businesses, community groups, foodbanks and environmental campaigners in a good food movement, which will raise public awareness of food, health and sustainability issues.
We will work with our Anchor Network and through our own procurement processes to increase demand for healthy, sustainable and local food.
We will put good food at the heart of our economic development and regeneration plans, to support local enterprise and strengthen local supply chains.
